  Swimming Team
By Kwok Yui Kei, Captain

The performance of this year's Wah Yan Swimming Team was good. We ranked 8 in the Inter-School Swimming Championship, which was the best result of us in these ten years. Thanks to the brilliant performances of the team swimmers.

This year, four superb teammates had graduated, which was a great loss to our swimming team. Fortunately, ten form one students were recruited to the team. They have the potential to become very good swimmers.

The team swimmers began training in early September. We practised three times a week. With the tremendous attempts of the swimmers and professional guidance from our experienced coach, Mr. Alan Wong, the skills of the swimmers had been improved a lot just in few weeks.

We were invited by four schools to praticipate in their invitation relays before the inter-school swimming championship. Not only did the relays improve relationship between schools, but also provided chances for swimmers to gain more experience and to prepare for the inter-school swimming championship. By the tremendous effort of the swimmer, we gained a first runner-up and a second runner-up in the relays.

With the great potential of the teammates and intensive training, I am sure that the team will do even better in the future.

On behalf of the swimming team, I would like to thank our principal: Mr. Norman So, our coaches, Mr. Alan Wong, Mr. Tang Wai Choi and Mr. Chan Ka Lok. They had offered the team invaluable support and devoted much time and effort to us.
